Culinary Nutrition for Adults, Kids, and Folks in Addiction Treatment and Recovery
Description: Originally from Newton MA, and a graduate of Solomon Schechter Day School, I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a Masters degree in Nutrition Science. I have an extensive background in the culinary world, in restaurants, private chef work, and teaching. I specialize in culinary-nutrition, and body positivity. Philosophy and Offerings: Food can be a tool for health, but food is also about joy. My mission is to integrate the two. I offer cooking classes for adults and children, body-image counseling, nutrition counseling for for folks with substance use disorder, and meal planning support. Background: As a tween I was diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa. This was following the loss of my mom to Breast Cancer when I was 8 years old. Over many years, I sought to recover the love of food I had as a child. It was my travel abroad that helped me discover how delicious food can be, and the joys of cooking. Italy, it turns out, is a great place to fall in love with food and cooking! Cooking and the formal study of nutrition have helped me to heal my relationship with food and turn it into a career path. Today my mission is to help others discover the joy of food, the connection between food and physical/mental health, and compassion toward their bodies.
